The Singapore Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) is a work pass granted to foreign professionals seeking to work in any sector without being tied to a specific employer. The PEP is only issued once with a validity of 3 years and is non-renewable. However, current employers of PEP holders may apply for EP for their foreign employees upon expiration of the PEP so they can continue their employment in the company.

You may apply for a Personalised Employment Pass if

  • You are working overseas and are currently earning or earned a fixed monthly salary of at least S$18,000 within the last 6 months.
  • You are presently a P1 Employment Pass holder earning a fixed monthly salary of at least S$12,000.

Personalised Employment Pass Privileges

  • PEP holders are allowed to remain in Singapore for up to 6 months in between jobs.
  • PEP holders may take on employment in any sector.
  • PEP holders are not required to re-apply for new work pass when changing jobs.
  • PEP holders can bring in their immediate family members by applying for Dependant’s Pass or Long Term Visit Pass.

How to Apply

PEP applications can only be submitted manually. You are advised to apply from overseas and to relocate to Singapore upon approval of the application. To apply, you will need a local contact person who is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. You may engage our service to obtain the visa.

Processing Time

MOM assesses all PEP applications for about 5 weeks. It could take no longer when additional information is required or when there is a high volume of applications being processed.

Conditions of PEP Validity

PEP holders must meet the following conditions to avoid having the work pass being cancelled.

  • Must maintain an annual fixed salary of S$144,000.
  • Must not exceed the maximum unemployment period of 6 months.
  • Must not engage in any entrepreneurial activities.
  • Must report annual fixed salary and changes in employment status to MOM whenever applicable.
