RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the hospital’s infection control practices, surveillance, audit of compliance to infection control and its implementation
• Educating staff, identifying infection hazards, monitoring infection control procedures
• Conduct audits on infection control practices and reporting of the spread of diseases in hospitals to MOH
• Review current practices based on new evidence and quality indicators and conduct relevant research in infection control where evidence is unavailable
• Unit set-up and organizational structure of infection control in hospital
• Roles of the Infection Control Committee, officer and nurse
• Overview of surveillance programs
• Standard and Transmission based precautions
• Management of Infectious disease (e.g. pulmonary tuberculosis, HIV patients)
• Management of sharps injury / exposure incidences

REQUIREMENTS:

• Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing
• Relevant training and experience in Infection Control
• Good interpersonal, organization and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy skills – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
