Through its subsidiary, its advanced technology solutions address a wide spectrum of environmental issues such as solid waste, waste water, drinking and process water, bio solids and sludge. Our Client’s Subsidiary in-house Research & Development capabilities, as well as strategic alliances with global research institutes enable it to continuously improve its technology.

As a HSE Coordinator, your primary role is to support HSE Officers/Managers or site management to comply with workplace safety and health legal and other requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist with HSE matters at multiple sites which do not have stationed HSE Officers/Managers.
  • Monitor the implementation and performance of HSE programs and work activities in order to advice management so that they can improve on any deficiencies and WSH legal and other non-compliances.
  • Coordinate with contractors and sub-contractors on compliance with site safety rules, permits to work and safe work procedures risk assessments and any other necessary safety requirements.
  • Conduct site safety induction and training where necessary.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all HSE management system documentation.
  • Coordinate and monitor compliance with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and risk management program requirements.
  • Conduct regular site HSE inspections and the reporting of all safe and unsafe conditions, including the follow-up actions until closure.
  • Assist with the gas-checking of confined spaces prior to entry for work activities.
  • Direct the issuance of Notices of Non-Compliance to contractor/subcontractors found in violation of HSE rules & regulations, and follow-up to ensure compliance.
  • Facilitate and assist in the investigation of incidents, identification of root causes and the implementation of the necessary corrective and preventive measures.
  • Assist to ensure that all lifting gear, appliances and electrical equipment are inspected monthly and that the register, colour coding and records are up to date.
  • Assist with the training and competencies of the emergency response teams including First Aiders, ERT and CERT.
  • Carry out any other HSE related functions/duties and processes as directed by HSE Officers/Manager or site management, including performing any ad-hoc HSE duties at multiple sites.
  • Document records and report all matters concerning HSE issues, to the HSE Officers/Manager.
  • Assist to develop monthly HSE Bulletin.
  • Perform the role of Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and adhere to the Fire Safety Act.
  • Carry out any ad-hoc assignments/tasks required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in a technical field with at least 5 years of relevant HSE working experience
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or equivalent qualification recognised by MOM
  • Lifting Supervisor courses (Preferably)
  • Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF
  • Sufficient knowledge of fire safety, life-saving equipment & items
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge on WSH legal & other requirements
  • Able to organize and carry out HSE-related training
  • Able to establish and maintain a system of records and related documentation
  • Able to facilitate in obtaining all necessary permits and licenses
  • Good time management, leadership qualities and skills
